NetPoint Software Installation

  1. Insert the NetPoint Installation Disk into the computer.
  2. Double-Click on the disk icon.
  3. Double-Click on the Installation icon in the disk's window.
  4. Click "OK".
  5. Read the stuff that comes up.
  6. Click "OK".
  7. Click once on the window that comes up and says "This was created using StuffIt....."
  8. Look at the window.
  9. Click the "Install" button.
  10. Choose where you want to save the new folder.
  11. Then click "OK".
  12. Click "OK" when it says the installation is complete.
  13. Restart your computer.

Configuring FreePPP

  1. If nothing happens go to the Apple Menu, and go to Control Panels.
  2. Select FreePPP Setup.
  3. Click on the little blue arrow in the lower left-hand corner.


  4. Select "account" at the top.
  5. Click on the New button.

  6. Put "NetPoint" in the name place.
  7. Put 532-6280, or 532-5867 if you have a 56k modem, in the phone number place.
  8. Drag down the connect menu.
  9. Choose Connection Script


  10. In the first blank type, sername:
  11. On the next blank type your username in.
  12. In the third blank type, ssword:
  13. On the line after that type your password in.
  14. In the fifth blank type, server>
  15. On the next line type, ppp
  16. Make sure that, in the column next to the blanks, that it is send, then wait...every other one until the PPP line.
  17. Then make sure that in the "Return" column to the right there is a check in the second box, and every other one until the PPP line.
  18. Then click on OK.

  19. On the top of the account setup window choose CONNECTION, then set your modem speed.
  20. Then in Flow control select CTS & RTS (DTR) from the choices.
  21. Now click on Options at the top, and make sure that PPP is assigned by the server, and just leave the other blanks as they are.
  22. Now click on OK at the bottom.
  23. Now click on the tab that says General.
  24. Then at the bottom Click on MacTCP.
  25. Make sure the FreePPP icon is highlighted.
  26. Now click on the more button at the bottom of that window.
  27. Make sure that in the bottom right hand corner it says starpoint.net in the first blank and mr.net in the second.
  28. Look at the top right and make sure that Class C is selected.
  29. Click OK.
  30. Close the MacTCP window.
  31. Click on Connect at the top of the FreePPP screen.
  32. Your modem should dial up and you should be connected.
  33. Close the FreePPP window.
  34. Now you should be able to use the Menu at the top of the screen that looks like a phone to connect, disconnect, and setup.
  35. If the menu does not work then restart and try again.
