Virus Update. |
The so called "Sobig" virus also known as W32/Palyh@MM is being caught by NetPoint's virus scanners in user's e-mail and is being quarantined before downloading to their PCs. FYI In perspective, the Klez virus still remains the most caught virus (with 32) in the past 24 hours, while the new virus was stopped 27 times in the same period. Since September 2001, Klez was stopped 30,041 times, followed by SirCam at 8,967. During that same period NetPoint has stopped 52,917 viruses.
Virus Alert! |
Symantec has upgraded the Sobig virus to threat level 3. This one should be easy to avoid. It makes itself appear to be sent from support@microsoft.com. To avoid being infected, do not open any e-mail from that address untill after May 31st. The virus will stop spreading on that date. If you are infected, there is a removal tool available from Symantec.

wireless network |
Several contributing factors have been causing problems for the highspeed wireless network. We believe we have permanently resolved the larger of these issues. There is still some tweaking which will happen to further "purify" the traffic, but users should begin to notice an improvement in their performance.
